How to iron effectively

Check each garment care label, begin with lower-temperature fabrics and increase heat only when the material permits it. Keep the soleplate moving and smooth fabric before each pass. A dry iron uses direct heat and pressure; a light external spray can help some fabrics only where the garment and iron instructions allow it.

Do's

• Do follow fabric care labels.
• Do use a stable ironing surface.
• Do keep the soleplate clean and smooth.
• Do unplug before filling, emptying or cleaning where applicable.
• Do cool fully before storage.

Don'ts

• Don't leave a hot iron face-down on clothing.
• Don't use high heat on unknown or delicate fibres.
• Don't scrape coated soleplates with metal tools.
• Don't immerse electrical parts in water.
• Don't wrap the cord tightly around a hot appliance.

Cleaning and care

Disconnect and cool first. Wipe the soleplate using a non-abrasive method compatible with its coating. Remove transferred fabric residue before it hardens and damages glide.

Steam iron vs dry iron

A steam iron combines heat, pressure and moisture for suitable fabrics. A dry iron uses heat and pressure without continuous steam. The better choice depends on wardrobe fabrics, crease severity, maintenance preference and whether you regularly need vertical or burst steam.
